Today, we’re looking at the Work and Play toy hauler lineup. While some of the 11 toy hauler lines made by Forest River offer both travel trailer and fifth wheel options, the Work and Play toy haulers are only travel trailers.

Who Makes the Work And Play Toy Hauler?
Forest River makes the Work and Play toy haulers. This line of towable RVs features rear garages ranging from 13 feet 1 inch to 15 feet 9 inches.
The Work and Play toy haulers provide 3,710-3,985 pounds of cargo carrying capacity, a huge advantage of toy haulers over other towable campers.
Owners can renovate the space to suit their needs, like adding a second bedroom or creating an office space. Or, they can haul their outdoor toys like ATVs, golf carts, motorcycles, and more.

Forest River is one of the leading manufacturers in the RV industry. Since 1996, Forest River has produced RVs for all types of travelers, from entry-level pop-up campers to luxurious motorhomes to stationary park models.
Over the years, the company has acquired other RV brands, including Coachmen, Dynamax, Palomino, Prime Time Manufacturing, Shasta, and East to West.

What Types Of RVs Does Forest River Manufacture?
Forest River produces a wide range of RVs, including towables and motorized models. Just the travel trailer lineup has 45 different brands!
These include aluminum-sided and fiberglass options, lightweight and more durable options, family-friendly bunk rooms, and spacious kitchens. There are 30 Forest River fifth wheels, 11 toy haulers, eight tent campers, and six destination trailers to round out the towable RV lineup.
The motorized division is just as varied. There are eight Class A options, including the popular Berkshire and Georgetown.
Six Class C options include the Forester, Sunseeker, and Solera. The Sunseeker MBS, Sunseeker TS, and Forester TS are Class B+ models, larger than the standard Class B camper vans but without the overhead cab sleeping area like the Class C units.
A Breakdown Of the Forest River Work And Play Toy Haulers
Ranging from 27 feet 5 inches to 36 feet 4 inches long, these Work and Play toy haulers will weigh in anywhere from 9,600 to 12,500 pounds.
This means you could tow the two shorter, lighter Work and Play toy haulers with a truck like a Ford F-150, but you’ll probably want a heavier-duty truck for the three longer, heavier models.

This leaves room for human error and ensures you don’t overload your truck, possibly causing damage to the transmission, engine, and brake system.
Work and Play 21LT

Features: The smallest unit is the 21LT, but it doesn’t have the smallest garage space. The rear is still a spacious 13 feet 8 inches long. However, those dimensions include the kitchen, sitting area, and entertainment center.
The front bedroom has a slide-out to provide more room at the foot of the bed between the bed and the bathroom. We like the dresser and wardrobe storage in the bedroom. This is more than other trailers we’ve seen under 28 feet long.
Work And Play 23LT
Length: 29 feet 7 inches
GVWR: 9,600 pounds
CCC: 3,788 pounds
Garage Size: 13 feet 1 inch
Features: The 23LT has the smallest garage space at 13 feet 1 inch but a spacious bathroom and king-sized bed. Whereas the 21LT model’s garage takes up about ⅔ of the entire length, the 23LT is more half-and-half.
Instead of the bathroom being shoved in the bedroom like it is in the 21LT, it’s in the center of the unit like a standard travel trailer floor plan. There’s also the addition of a pantry next to the refrigerator. There are no slide-outs in the 23LT.
Work And Play 27KB
Length: 32 feet 11 inches
GVWR: 10,500 pounds
CCC: 3,710 pounds
Garage Size: 15 feet 9 inches
Features: The Forest River Work and Play 27KB toy hauler is very similar to the 23LT model but adds more than three feet, providing a much larger garage space. This is the first unit with a table in the kitchen between two chairs.
The 21LT also has two chairs but no table. Instead of a split kitchen like the 23LT, the 27KB has a long galley kitchen against the left wall. For a family or couple who likes to cook, the 27KB model is ideal. This manufacturer also offers a 27LT model that looks exactly the same.
Work And Play 29SS
Length: 36 feet 4 inches
GVWR: 12,500 pounds
CCC: 3,858 pounds
Garage Size: 15 feet 7 inches
Features: Finally, the Forest River Work and Play 29SS toy hauler is the longest and heaviest model. It has a large slide-out in the center living space, expanding this area so the kitchen has an L-countertop.
This is also the only unit with a sofa. The 29SS has two chairs with a table like the 27KB but also has an end table for more storage. This is also the only model with two entry doors – one to the front bedroom and one to the garage.
Work And Play 30GS
Length: 37 feet 6 inches
GVWR: 12,500 pounds
CCC: 3,467 pounds
Garage Size: TBD
Features: The 30GS is a new floorplan offered by Work and Play you and can get update alerts from their website. It will feature a front bed, closet, and shower. The garage size appears to be a good length for larger toys and has extra sleeping space.
