Winnebago is well-known throughout the RV industry. The company has been in the business since 1958 and has a reputation for manufacturing quality travel trailers and motorhomes. Winnebago has five models within the Class C lineup: the View, Navion, EKKO, Minnie Winnie, and Spirit.

About Winnebago
Winnebago Industries was incorporated in 1958 and adopted its current name in 1961. The company owns Winnebago, Grand Design, Chris-Craft, Newmar, and Barletta.
It also has multiple facilities in Iowa, Indiana, Minnesota, and Florida that produce top-quality motorhomes, travel trailers, fifth wheels, outboard and sterndrive powerboats, and commercial community outreach vehicles.
The company has a board of directors under the leadership of Chairman David Miles. President and Chief Executive Officer Michael Happe leads the management team. Forest City, Iowa, has been Winnebago’s home since it began in 1958.
About the Winnebago View
The Winnebago View starts at $196,152 for the 24J model. This Class C motorhome sits on a Sprinter chassis powered by a diesel engine. It comes in four different colors and three different floorplans.
All three models have a GVWR of 11,030 pounds and a GCWR of 15,250 pounds. They all measure 25 feet 6 inches long and 6 feet 8 inches tall inside, making them comfortable for most travelers.
The black and gray tanks have a 41-gallon capacity, so boondocking for several days at a time won’t be a problem. The Winnebago View comes with a 15,000 BTU air conditioner with a heat pump and a 20,000 BTU low-profile ducted furnace.
In addition, standard electrical equipment includes two deep-cycle, Group 31 RV batteries, a 3,600 Watt Cummins Onan MicroQuiet generator, and a 2,000 Watt pure sine wave DC/AC inverter. You also get two 100-Watt solar panels and a plug for additional portable panels.
Where Is the Winnebago View Made?
Winnebago manufactures the View, and all other Class A and Class C motorhomes, in Forest City, Iowa. Unlike many brands that make their home in Elkhart, Ind., Winnebago has chosen Iowa to produce its motorhome lineup.
Just 15 miles down the road is the Lake Mills facility where the camper vans are made.
The Winnebago View Lineup
The View is one of the five Class C motorhomes made by Winnebago. All three models are the same length, height, and weight but offer very different floorplans.
The Murphy bed of the 24D, the permanent 50-by-79-inch bed of the 24J, and the two twin beds of the 24V provide three unique layouts.
24D

Features: The 24D model features a rear bathroom and a front cabover bed. Behind the driver’s seat is a large U-shaped dinette across from the kitchen sink and countertop.
Beside the dinette is a sofa across from the refrigerator, pantry, and cooktop. A Murphy bed folds out over the couch for a 60-by-75-inch sleeping space.
The Winnebago View 24D also has the option of removing the dinette and inserting theater seating instead. This model is ideal for a solo traveler or couple wanting to entertain friends or more seating space in the living area.

24J

Features: With a completely different floorplan than the 24D, the Winnebago View 24J features a rear bed positioned north-south with the bathroom adjacent to the bed.
This model has no sofa due to the permanent bed. The large U-shaped dinette also sits behind the driver’s seat.
The 24J also has the option of removing the dinette and adding theater seating. The refrigerator, cooktop, sink, and countertop lie along the passenger side, with the pantry and wardrobe storage next to the dinette.
This model is ideal for a solo traveler or couple who wants a permanent bed location instead of the Murphy bed.
24V

Features: The third Winnebago View model is the 24V. This unique floorplan features two rear twin beds. It also has two rear wardrobes for clothing storage.
The bathroom is more in the center, along with a TrueComfort sofa and a table. The kitchen is pretty much the same as the 24J, with the refrigerator, cooktop, sink, and countertop along the passenger side.
The 24V can work well for friends who want separate beds or couples who prefer their own sleeping spaces.
Does Winnebago Manufacture Other Class C RVs?
As mentioned earlier, Winnebago manufactures a total of five Class C RVs. These motorhomes are a good medium size between the larger Class As and smaller camper vans.
The EKKO measures 23 feet and starts at $207,707. However, the Minnie Winnie and Spirit range from 23 feet 9 inches to 32 feet 9 inches in length and start at $136,075. The Navion is very similar to the Winnebago View at 25 feet 6 inches long with a starting price of $196,152.

The only difference between the Winnebago View and the Winnebago Navion is the name. They’re both built on the Mercedes Benz chassis with a diesel engine.
They’re both compact Class Cs for travelers looking for a smaller length. Additionally, they have identical floorplans and features.
Winnebago originally included the Navion in the Itasca line. But when the company discontinued the Itasca brand, it moved some models to the Winnebago brand, including the Navion. But some dealers are authorized to sell the Navion since it came from a different line of RVs, while others have permission to sell the View.
