If you’ve been RVing for any length of time, you’ve heard of Winnebago. You might even have one yourself! This brand is one of the most popular companies in the RV world and has a solid reputation. You’ll find entry level options as well as off-roading vehicles.
Today, we’ll share more about the Winnebago Solis Pocket, one of the company’s Class B camper van lines. There are only two floorplans, but we love the way Winnebago has manufactured these distinct options for travelers. Let’s dive in!
Who Is Winnebago?
Winnebago is one of the most recognized names in the RV industry. We’ve shared details about numerous products like the Winnebago Travato, the Winnebago Micro Minnie, and the off-road-ready Winnebago Revel. It’s a trusted brand that has been in the business since 1958.
In its early years, Winnebago focused primarily on travel trailers, with the 15-foot Ajo rolling off the assembly line as the first product in 1958. Later, in 1967, the first Winnebago motorhome debuted. By 1986, Winnebago had manufactured its 200,000th unit and ranked 10th on the Fortune 500 for innovation.
Over the last two decades, Winnebago has achieved numerous awards and recognitions such as achieving annual sales of $1.1 billion for the first time in history in 2004 and being named “most-admired RV manufacturer” in an RV Business poll.
The company also owns Grand Design RV and Newmar, two other top brands in the industry, which Winnebago purchased in 2016 and 2019, respectively. It has also branched out into the marine industry by purchasing Chris-Craft and Barletta.
What Types of RVs Does Winnebago Manufacture?
Winnebago manufactures six Class A motorhomes. Two additional lines are National Park Foundation Limited Editions. There are also nine camper van lines and a tenth National Park Foundation Limited Edition option. Finally, seven Class C lines round out the motorized RV models.
Winnebago continues to stick to its roots with compact, lightweight travel trailers as well. Currently, eight travel trailer lines are in production. We also want to mention how Winnebago has stepped up in recent years to ensure that travelers of all abilities can enjoy nature. Two accessibility-enhanced models – the Inspire Class A and the Roam camper van – provide wheelchair lifts, expanded hallways, and roll-in showers.
What Is the Winnebago Solis Pocket?
The Winnebago Solis Pocket Class Bs are Winnebago’s most affordable camper vans, starting at $140,375. They’re slightly smaller than the two Winnebago Solis models, which measure 19 feet 9 inches and 21 feet long. The Winnebago Solis 59P also starts at $152,169, considerably more than the Winnebago Solis Pocket 36A.
The Winnebago Solis Pocket is equipped for backcountry excursions and urban adventures. It’s compact while still providing the basic amenities for a weekend getaway or extended stay, such as a 2-burner range top, a 3.0 cubic-foot 12-volt single-door compressor-driven refrigerator/freezer, and a stainless steel sink.
These two units are built on a Ram ProMaster chassis with a 3.6L V6 gas engine. The trailer hitch is rated for 3,500 pounds. Campers enjoy the 13,500 BTU air conditioner during the summer and the Truma VarioHeat in the 36A unit or the Truma Combi Eco heating system in the 36B unit during the cooler months. The Winnebago Solis Pocket comes with the standard 12-month/24,000-mile basic warranty.
Does the Winnebago Solis Pocket Have A Bathroom?
The new Winnebago Solis Pocket 36B does have a bathroom. It features a shower with a wall surround, a shower curtain, a removable cassette toilet, a stainless steel sink, a medicine cabinet, a powered roof vent, and a wardrobe cabinet. This model also has an Eco-Hot water system.
The Winnebago Solis Pocket 36A doesn’t have a separate bathroom, but it has a portable toilet, which is stored under the rear-facing dinette seat. Because it doesn’t have this added space in the rear, the 36A offers much more lounge space than the 36B van.
A Breakdown of the Winnebago Solis Pocket Class B Van
As we’ve mentioned, there are two Winnebago Solis Pocket camper vans. Both measure 17 feet 10 inches long, have an interior height of 6 feet 3 inches, and weigh 8,550 pounds. However, due to the added bathroom in the Winnebago Solis Pocket 36B, it only sleeps two, while the 36A model sleeps three. Let’s look closer at each unit!

The Winnebago Solis Pocket 34A camper van has a rear Murphy bed that provides room for underneath storage. The center dinette has two facing seats with a removable/adjustable table and converts to a sofa/daybed for additional sleeping space.
The interior also features a multi-use storage area with cupholders and a charging center. The rear space underneath the bed has L-track cargo tie downs and a MOLLE panel cargo gate for plenty of storage for your outdoor gear.

The wet bath takes up the entire rear of the Winnebago Solis Pocket 36B camper van. The center of the unit features a 2-person dinette that can extend to include seating for four people. The 2-person dinette converts to a single bed, while the 4-person dinette converts to a double bed.
This is a much smaller space than the 36A unit. Depending on whether or not you want the wet bath will determine which Winnebago Solis Pocket model is right for you.
Who Is the Winnebago Solis Pocket Camper Van Good For?
The Winnebago Solis Pocket isn’t an ideal camper van for families. You could create a sleeping space for a child in the 36A model with the convertible dinette, but we would only recommend this for short weekend camping trips.
Instead, we believe the Winnebago Solis Pocket is best for a solo traveler or a couple. It’s also the most affordable option, so it’s ideal for people on a tight budget who want to compact design of a Class B.
It’s not designed for off-roading like the Winnebago Revel, so we wouldn’t recommend this line for boondockers who want to get off the beaten path. However, the Winnebago Solis Pocket is a great entry-level option for travelers who just need the basics to make their camping trips comfortable and enjoyable.

The Winnebago Solis Pocket isn’t for everyone. In fact, it’s not for most RVers. But if you want comfort in a compact design without the price tag of other options that come with all the bells and whistles, this might be the right line for you. We love that you have the option of a bathroom in the 36B model and a larger living space in the 36A model. These two very different layouts will appeal to travelers with different needs and wants.
