Who Is Winnebago?
Winnebago is one of the most recognized names in the RV industry. The company has been manufacturing RVs since 1958, when it launched in Forest City, Iowa under the name Modernistic Industries and manufactured its first travel trailer. In 1960, it was renamed Winnebago Industries.
In 1967, the company produced its first motorhome, and by 2001, Winnebago topped both the Class C and Class A sales charts. During the 2000s, the company also began acquiring other RV brands: first, Grand Design in 2016 and next, Newmar in 2019. Winnebago Industries also added marine brands Chris-Craft and Barletta, expanding its family of companies to include watercraft.
What Is the Winnebago Adventurer Class A Motorhome?
The Winnebago Adventurer first made its appearance 30 years ago. It’s a Class A motorhome that starts at $249,419.
It’s built on a Ford F53 chassis and has a 7.3L V8 gas engine, a 5,000-pound trailer hitch, and SumoSprings front and rear suspension.
Depending on the floorplan, the Winnebago Adventurer sleeps five or six people.
A Breakdown of the Winnebago Adventurer Line
The Winnebago Adventurer comes in three different options. The 36Z is the longest and heaviest and offers the tallest interior height.
It’s also the most expensive, starting at just over $279,000. All three layouts feature the traditional Class A design of a rear bedroom with storage at the foot of the bed and the living space behind the front cab.
These units also have the option to add a loft bed over the cab for a second sleeping area. Let’s look at each floor plan in more detail!
Winnebago Adventurer 34W
Length: 35 feet 6 inches
GVWR: 22,000 pounds
Sleeps: 5
MSRP: $249,419
The Winnebago Adventurer 34W is the shortest option of the three units.
It has a huge slide in the living area that holds the sofa and dinette.
We love that the sofa is theater-style and can seat up to four adults comfortably.
If you like to entertain, this model is ideal.
The kitchen is fairly small but still has all of the basic appliances, including a convection microwave, gas range/oven, and stainless steel residential refrigerator with an ice maker and water dispenser.
There’s also a washer and dryer closet across from the hallway bath.
The rear bedroom has a king bed, nightstands, a dresser, and two wardrobes.
Winnebago Adventurer 35F
Length: 35 feet 10 inches
GVWR: 22,000 pounds
Sleeps: 5
MSRP: $254,143
A slightly larger option is the Winnebago Adventurer 35F.
Two significant differences between this motorhome and the 34W are the L-shaped sofa and the additional half bath.
Like the 34W, the 35F is ideal for RVers who enjoy entertaining.
If you prefer the theater seating sofa, you can choose to replace the sectional with that option.
The kitchen and dinette are similar to the previous model. A half bath sits across from the sectional.
The full bathroom is in the very rear of the coach. It’s a private ensuite and features a large vanity.
The bedroom has a king bed, one wardrobe, a washer and dryer closet that can also be used as a second wardrobe instead, a dresser, and nightstands.
Winnebago Adventurer 36Z
Length: 37 feet 3 inches
GVWR: 24,000 pounds
Sleeps: 6
MSRP: $279,047
The Winnebago Adventurer 36Z has three slide-outs for increased interior space.
Like the 35F, it also features a half bath and rear ensuite.
The bed is flipped to the other side of the room, and a single large wardrobe stretches across the opposing wall.
The half bath sits across from the pantry in the hallway.
A significant difference in the 36Z model is the increased countertop space.
If you enjoy cooking, this model is the best option. The sofa is smaller, but you have plenty of room for meal prep.
The sofa also converts into another sleeping space.
With the option to add the loft above the cab and this sofa sleeper, up to six people can comfortably sleep in the Winnebago Adventurer 36Z.
Who Is the Winnebago Adventurer Good For?
The Winnebago Adventurer is a great option for RVers who want a motorhome but can’t afford a $300,000 unit. Because it operates with a gas engine, the Adventurer is a more affordable coach.
But it’s Winnebago’s top-of-the-line gas engine motorhome. You’ll have everything you need, plus a few extras for a comfortable camping adventure.
We also love the sleeping options of the Winnebago Adventurer. If you’re a traveling family, it’s possible to add the loft above the cab so the kids have a designated sleeping space.
If your grandkids come with you one weekend, they can have their own bed without sleeping on the couch.
In addition, the seating space of the 34W and 35F offers plenty of room to entertain friends and family. If the weather is poor and you want to watch a big game, everyone can have a place to sit inside.
Is Winnebago A Good Brand?
Winnebago is a trusted brand in the RV industry. No RV is perfect. Every owner will experience problems. But when you purchase from Winnebago, you’re buying from a company that has been manufacturing RVs for over 60 years. You’ll receive excellent customer service so that when something does happen, you’re not left on your own to figure it out.
If you’re looking for a more budget-friendly Class A, the Winnebago Adventurer is a great option.
You might not have luxuries like granite countertops or heated flooring, but you’re also not paying for unnecessary upgrades. We believe you’ll have a fantastic time making memories in your adventurer!
