Do I Have to be a Member to Camp at Thousand Trails in California?
No, you do not have to be a member to camp at most Thousand Trails resorts. You can book your campsite through their RV on the Go website. However, we wouldn’t recommend camping at one without a membership!
A Thousand Trails membership saves you so much money. If you were to choose to camp at a Thousand Trails resort without a membership, your daily rate would be pretty expensive, depending on the season and location. Non-member daily pricing can hover around $50/day and goes up from there.

Idyllwild RV Resort
Located about 2 hours southeast of Los Angeles is Thousand Trails’ Idyllwild RV Resort. Nestled a mile high in the San Jacinto Mountains, this campground has a beautiful and arid summer climate.
Idyllwild RV resort features secluded tent camping, rv sites tucked into the trees, and serene cabins available for rent. This campground has 300 campsites spread out over 200 acres – making the campsites spacious and private.
This place is a nature lover’s paradise, with world-class rock climbing and miles upon miles of hiking trails for every skill and adventure level. The famous Pacific Crest Trail even runs right by the village of Idyllwild!
At the resort, you can enjoy many amenities including a heated pool, horseshoes, a beautiful lodge, volleyball, and so much more.
