This unique campground caters to individuals living life on the road. It offers just about everything remote workers could need during their travels.

About Campers Hub
The Campers Hub was originally a project started by Heath and Alyssa Padgett. However, in the spring of 2021, Scott and Taylor Johnson took over as owners.
They couldn’t have asked for a better location. The natural beauty of Montrose, Colorado, is hard to beat. The campground sits only 17 miles from Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park. It’s the perfect spot for those wanting to work and play hard.
The Campers Hub aims to offer various camping options to serve the unique needs of the RV community. They’re not focusing on the past or what campers wanted in a facility 20 years ago. Instead, they’re looking ahead and creating a campground for the future.
While they’re far from finished, they’ve most recently completed the first phase of their massive project. They’re open and accepting reservations. If your travels will take you through western Colorado, consider checking them out.
Who Are Scott and Taylor Johnson?
Scott and Taylor Johnson hit the road in July 2019 to experience the United States and Canada. However, like many RVers, their three-month trip became a much longer adventure. They fell in love with the lifestyle and didn’t want it to end.
Before traveling, Taylor worked as a Child Development Specialist. However, Scott continued to work as a real estate agent and investor while they were on the road.
After two-and-a-half years of traveling, the two of them were looking to settle down. They quickly noticed that the RV community needed a place that catered to the unique needs of entrepreneurs, remote workers, and full-time families.
They quickly realized that finding a campground to buy would be more challenging than they had planned. Luckily, the stars aligned, and they were able to acquire Gather Campground from Heath and Alyssa Padgett.
Once they took over as owners, they sprung into action. Scott’s construction management background and Taylor’s media and marketing skills are a match made in heaven. They jumped into action and got to work. They’ve been sharing updates regarding their progress on their Facebook, Instagram, and their blog.
Under Construction But Big Things Are Coming
Currently, the facility has 17 electric-only campsites, a co-working space with Wi-Fi, restrooms, and a camp store. While they’ll be big-rig friendly down the road, their sites can accommodate rigs 30 feet and under. However, like you do with any massive project, they’re taking baby steps towards completion.
When finished, they’ll have a campground with 135 RV and camping sites with shade trees, picnic tables, and fire rings. In addition, they plan to install a playground for the kids and a dog park for furry friends. They also plan to have a spot dedicated for food trucks to park during holiday weekends and other busy times.
They’ve yet to announce an expected completion date. However, they have stated they plan to have more sites available for the summer of 2024.
Reasons Remote Workers Will Love The Campers Hub
What remote workers look for in a campground differs greatly from your average campers. As a result, there are several things these nomads will love about The Campers Hub.
Location
One thing remote workers will love about The Campers Hub is that it’s within 200 miles of three national parks. This makes it an incredible spot to set up a base camp and explore these epic locations.
In addition, the city of Montrose has a population of approximately 20,000. It’s large enough to have a regional airport and many restaurant options. However, most importantly, the nearest Walmart is less than 3 miles from the campground. As an added benefit, you’ll get a phenomenal view as you cruise Highway 550 to these establishments.
Co-working Space
While many RVers who work remotely get used to living and working out of their campers, it’s not always ideal. Having some room to stretch out or collaborate with others is nice. This was one of the first remodeled spaces on the property. It was formerly a 1945 schoolhouse and now has multiple desks, comfortable office chairs, and plenty of room to get to work.
Fiber Internet
Finding a speedy and stable internet connection is one of the hardest parts of working from the road. Luckily, at The Campers Hub, that’s not something you’ll have to worry about. The main building, including the co-working space, has internet access, but the entire park will have access when the dust settles.
Whether you need to video conference or upload a video to YouTube, the connection here won’t stop you. Having the fastest connection possible means getting work done quickly so you can spend more time adventuring.
Coffee Bar
Sometimes, a cup of coffee keeps you going when getting work done. Luckily, you won’t have to go far once The Campers Hub finishes construction. While they’ve yet to disclose many details, they list a coffee bar as a future amenity. So, whether waiting for your laundry to finish or working, you can enjoy a delicious cup of your favorite brew.
Accommodations for All Types of Campers
While The Campers Hub has many features that cater to remote workers, it’s not exclusively for nomads. They plan to offer everything from tent camping to glamping rentals. Those families looking to get out and explore will enjoy having access to a dump station, potable water, laundry, and clean restrooms with showers.

We Hope The Campers Hub Sets The Tone For Accommodating Remote Workers
Unfortunately, campgrounds haven’t changed much over the years. Luckily, The Campers Hub is looking to change that. While we don’t expect every campground across the country to make these changes, we hope more will. Once The Campers Hub finishes construction, remote workers will feel spoiled by the amenities they offer. We can’t wait to see the finished product!
