Tips for Visiting An RV show
If you’re thinking about purchasing an RV, attending an RV show can be a great way to research and see what’s on the market.
Here are a few tips to help you make the most of your experience.
Know Your Goals
What kind of RV are you looking for?
Are you interested in a specific type or model, or are you trying to get a general idea of what’s available?
Do you have a particular manufacturer you’re interested in, or is there a floor plan that has captured your interest?
Most RV shows have numerous manufacturers and hundreds of RVs on display. You may not be able to tour all of them.
Having a clear idea of what you’re looking for and checking out the show layout before diving in will help you narrow your options and make the most of your time.
PRO TIP: It’s also best to bring a tape measure along, particularly if you’re looking at the equipment you’d like to fit into your existing rig.
Be Prepared for a Long Day
RV shows can be expansive, and there’s much to see. If you’re interested in checking out all the options, it will be an all-day event.
Be sure you prepare for a long day.
Make sure you wear comfortable shoes and clothes appropriate for the weather.
Don’t forget things like sunscreen.
If you don’t want to break the bank, pack a lunch and bring snacks and water to keep your energy up.
Bring Something to Take Notes
Even if you’ve narrowed your options, there’s a vast amount of information at an RV show.
There are many similar-sounding names, floorplans, and details.
They can all start to meld after a while.
It can be helpful to have a way to jot down your thoughts and impressions.
Bringing a notebook or laptop is perfect for taking notes.
Also, don’t forget that most of us have a camera, notepad, and voice recorder (also known as a smartphone).

Where Is the Largest RV Show in the US?
The largest RV show in the United States is held annually in Hershey, Pennsylvania.
Presented by the Pennsylvania Recreation Vehicle and Camping Association, the Hershey PRVCA show spans over 30 football fields.
Dubbed “America’s Largest RV Show,” the show typically features more than 1,200 RVs from at least 30 different manufacturers, quite often 40 or more.
The Hershey PRVCA show also hosts seminars and workshops on RVing, regularly attracting more than 50,000 visitors annually. In 2021, more than 61,000 people flocked to Hershey for the annual RV show.
What Is the Best RV Show in the US?
Naming the best RV show in the United States is no easy task.
Several shows are well worth your while, particularly if you want to purchase an RV or make renovations or upgrades.
It’s tough to beat the annual Florida RV SuperShow at the Florida State Fairgrounds in Tampa.
Like the Hershey PRVCA show, the SuperShow hosts scores of manufacturers with more than 1,000 RVs on display.
It also features educational seminars, daily entertainment, the latest RV products, and accessories, and it even has trams to help you get around.
There are numerous RV shows across the country.
So even while we think the Florida RV SuperShow is the best, other great shows may be just as exciting and suitable for you.
Is the California RV Show Canceled?
The California RV Show, presented annually for 67 years by the Recreational Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA), was last held in 2019.
The RVIA canceled the 2020 edition of the show citing concerns for the safety of its more than 45,000 visitors “in light of the ongoing COVID-19 health crisis.”
Later that year, the RVIA convened a task force to evaluate the long-term future of the California RV Show.
The task force eventually determined that the show no longer provided the necessary value to its members and recommended it no longer host the event.
In September of 2020, the RVIA Board of Directors voted unanimously to accept the task force recommendation, terminating the event moving forward.
