However, for most students, this reprieve is in March or April. Sometimes, it’s scheduled along with Good Friday and Easter Monday. However, this isn’t always the case.

Is Spring Break A Popular Time To RV?
The later spring break is, the more popular it is to plan a camping trip. Temperatures vary widely from one state to another during March and April. While Florida and Arizona families may enjoy 75 degrees, North Carolina families may still see cold nights dip into the 30s.
However, planning a camping trip during spring break is an excellent opportunity to spend time together as a family. RVing can be less expensive than a hotel stay or renting an Airbnb, especially for larger families.
Also, most families will plan an RV trip to an area they know will have pleasant weather. A week-long vacation allows for families to travel farther than a weekend getaway.
A family from Newark, New Jersey, might travel the six hours south to Norfolk, Virginia, over spring break to enjoy warmer temperatures for several days.

1. Thousand Trails Orlando
You don’t have to be a member of Thousand Trails to stay in their campgrounds. The Orlando location is actually in Clermont, but it’s right in the heart of everything you’d want to do over spring break.
Visit SeaWorld, Disney, Universal Studios, Legoland, and more fun attractions. Plus, many families stay at Thousand Trails Orlando, so your kids will find plenty of friends to play with during the week.
2. Branson Shenanigan’s RV Park
Another popular destination for families is Branson, Missouri. The Silver Dollar City amusement park, the Branson Ferris Wheel, and Branson Landing are some of the most-visited attractions.
There’s something for everyone in the family, from shopping to dining to outdoor recreation.

3. Trailer Village RV Park at the Grand Canyon
You won’t find all of the attractions or activities at Trailer Village RV Park that you will at the abovementioned campgrounds. But wouldn’t it be amazing to spend spring break at one of the world’s natural wonders?
Visiting the Grand Canyon is a bucket list item! Nearby Williams offers more things to do if you’re looking to fill up the week, but we encourage you to visit Trailer Village and enjoy the scenery rather than the stuff.
4. Camp Margaritaville In Gatlinburg
The Camp Margaritaville RV resorts are some of the best in the country. But we chose the one in Gatlinburg because of the family-friendliness of this Tennessee mountain town.
Not only are you minutes from Great Smoky Mountains National Park and the Dollywood amusement park, but onsite, you have access to a pool recreation area, lazy river, pickleball courts, and an indoor Fin City Entertainment Center.

5. Bethpage Camp-Resort
Another Thousand Trails campground to make our list of RV destinations for spring break is in the Chesapeake Bay area of Virginia.
Bethpage Camp-Resort is one of the highest-rated RV resorts in the country. Enjoy access to the freshwater lake, beach, aqua trampoline, mini golf course, swimming pool, corn hole boards, wagon rides, fishing charters, and more.

7. Lake Hemet Campground
While most of these campgrounds have been on the eastern side of the U.S., we want to mention Lake Hemet Campground in California.
It’s one of the most beautiful locations on our list, surrounded by the San Jacinto Mountains near Idyllwild. Rent pontoon boats, fishing boats, or kayaks for the day.
Visit the cafe or market to purchase food items for the week. With campsites that back up to the lake, you may never want to go back home after spending a week at Lake Hemet.
Tips To Create Quality Time With Your Family Over Spring Break
Planning a spring break trip is only part of the challenge. Once you’ve decided where to go and made your reservations, ensuring that the time spent together is worth it is important.
We suggest setting some boundaries and expectations for the family. For example, put away devices at mealtime or during certain hours of the day. This way, everyone can be fully present with each other, whether it’s kayaking on Lake Hemet or shopping in Branson.
We also recommend letting everyone have a say in the chosen activities, especially if you have older kids. What do they want to do? Have them research the area and choose a few things they want to experience during spring break. Then they feel like the vacation is as much theirs as it is yours.
Another way to invite everyone to have a voice is to switch up your meal routine. If you have older children, have them plan, cook, and serve a meal. If you have younger children, split up and pair an adult with a child each night.
Plan a game night or movie night so your evenings aren’t spent sitting around looking at phones or tablets. Try to spend as much quality time together as possible. However, it’s essential to allow for personal space, too. Everyone needs to have “off time” to do what they want.
