About Jayco

Jayco is one of the most popular RV manufacturers in the industry. The brand started in 1968 when Lloyd Bontrager created a unique lifer system for pop-up campers. The idea was to make camping easier and safer for families. However, Mr. Bontrager had no idea that his company would grow to one of the most prominent names in the RV industry.

The brand has grown tremendously over the years and expanded its lineup. Today, they have campuses in Middlebury, Indiana, and Twin Falls, Idaho. They’ve developed a trusted reputation in the community, especially in the towable market.

About the Jayco Terrain

The Jayco Terrain hit the scene in 2021 in response to the popularity of vanlife. However, the Terrain isn’t just any ordinary Class B. As it sits on the Sprinter AWD Premium Mercedes-Benz chassis, it’s built to handle just about any adventure. Jayco has listened to customers and created one of those most impressive vans for traveling, working, and exploring.

One of the best features of the Terrain is that it combines ruggedness and luxury into a single vehicle. Whether you’re looking to explore remote locations or park in an RV park, the Terrain makes it easy. It has everything you need to eat, sleep, and shower during your travels. Just because you’re living tiny doesn’t mean you can’t do it comfortably or in style.

The Jayco Terrain comes loaded with some incredible standard features. As we mentioned, it sits on the Sprinter AWD Premium Mercedes-Benz chassis, which provides a smooth and stable ride. Additionally, it comes with safety features like crosswind, attention, and active distance assist. These high-tech features use technology to help you and your passengers to stay safe while traveling.

Other standard equipment includes a 3,500-watt inverter, a lithium battery, and 200W of roof-mounted solar panels. If Mother Nature isn’t cooperating to keep your battery charged, going for a drive will charge the battery.

You’ll also enjoy the durable rubber flooring, USB outlets for charging phones and other tech, and a removable Bluetooth speaker. While the three cubic feet DC refrigerator isn’t huge, it’s enough to keep your food cold while exploring.

Where Is the Jayco Terrain Made?

Jayco manufactures the Terrain and most of its RVs at its Middlebury, Indiana, campus. Middlebury is a short drive from Elkhart, Indiana, which many consider the RV capital of the world. This ideal location allows them to work with many other major brands in the industry.

As mentioned earlier, Jayco also has a Twin Falls, Idaho plant. This plant produces a variety of models for the Western inventory. The Twin Falls location allows them to serve their customers in western states faster.

The Jayco Terrain Lineup

Don’t overlook the Jayco Terrain because there’s only one floor plan in its lineup. It’s got a lot to offer and is a fantastic option for those looking to embrace #vanlife.

Features: The Jayco Terrain may be small, but it’s cozy. It’s easily able to adapt to just any nomadic lifestyle. The power lift bed makes it easy to move your bed out of the way when it’s not in use. The rear garage space allows you to bring gear with you. This space can store it all, whether it’s an electric bike or other toy for your travels.

One of our favorite features is the Starlink satellite internet system. You can stay connected to work, school, or family and friends. If you have a clear view of the sky, you can enjoy blazing internet from just about anywhere.

The Jayco Terrain is hard to overlook if you’re a couple looking to explore and live on the road. Not only does it come loaded with almost everything, but it also looks good. While solid options are available, some of our favorites are the Aztec and Mystic Tide partial paint jobs. They’re simple but stunning at the same time.

What Type of RVer is the Jayco Terrain Best For?

The Jayco Terrain is the best for those RVers who want to push the limits of remote adventures. If you require lots of space or plan to stay in RV parks and campgrounds most of the time, this might not be your van. It’s built to maximize the time you spend being self-sufficient.

While there’s seating space for four, sleeping with more than two can be challenging. Ideally, it’s best for those nomads who are solo or a couple. The Jayco Terrain is also a great option if you want to go far and fast. It offers everything you need for the perfect cross-country road trip.

Is the Jayco Terrain Right for You?

The MSRP on the Jayco Terrain is almost $250,000. However, we’ve found several listings for dealers selling them for around $160,000. Neither price is easy to overlook, especially considering the tiny stature. While the Jayco Terrain isn’t suitable for everybody, it’s an incredible van. It can allow you to enjoy traveling and adventuring without sacrificing comfort.
