Who Is Jayco?
Jayco RV is one of the most recognized names in the RV industry. Although it’s owned by Thor Industries now, Lloyd Bontrager founded Jayco in 1968 as an innovative brand producing pop-up campers. Jayco’s facilities are in Middlebury, Indiana near the RV Capital of the World in Elkhart. Roughly 80% of RVs are manufactured in this area of the U.S.
What Types Of RVs Does Jayco Manufacture?
Although Jayco began as a pop-up camper manufacturer, the company has grown to include travel trailers, fifth wheels, toy haulers, Class As, Class Bs, and Class Cs. Whether you’re looking for an entry-level trailer in which to spend a couple of weekends a year camping or a luxurious Super C will all the bells and whistles, Jayco has an RV for all kinds of travelers.
What Is the Jayco Redhawk?
The Jayco Redhawk and Greyhawk are the only gas-powered Class C motorhomes. They’re also the most affordable options. The Jayco Redhawk is similar to the Greyhawk but offers smaller floorplans and cheaper prices. They start at $153,293, sleep up to seven people, and range from 26 feet 8 inches to 32 feet 6 inches. All five Redhawk floorplans have slide-outs for increased interior space.
A Breakdown of the Jayco Redhawk
Every Jayco Redhawk Class C motorhome is built on a Ford E-450 chassis and comes with a 7.3L V8 gas engine. The 7,500-pound hitch rating allows you to bring along a second vehicle. You also have plenty of weight to do so since the GCWR is 22,000 pounds.
They have a 4000-watt generator, a water filtration system, a 15,000 BTU air conditioner, a 30,000 BTU furnace, a full kitchen, and a full bathroom. Each unit is also prepped for solar. Let’s take a look at each of the five floorplans in detail.
Jayco Redhawk 24B
Length: 26 feet 8 inches

Features: The Jayco Redhawk 24B is the shortest option, which makes it ideal for someone who isn’t comfortable driving a large motorhome. Even under 27 feet, it still has everything you need for a comfortable weekend getaway.
There’s a U-shaped dinette, pantry, 10-cubic-foot refrigerator, stove/oven, microwave, double sink, queen bed, and a large rear wardrobe. Like all Class Cs, the 24B features the cabover bunk for additional sleeping space or extra storage.
Jayco Redhawk 26M
Length: 28 feet 8 inches

Features: The Jayco Redhawk 26M is the only unit that doesn’t have a dedicated sleeping space. Instead, it features a Murphy bed over the sofa. The sofa is directly across from an entertainment center and an electric fireplace.
The entire rear of the coach is the full bathroom. A wardrobe closet separates the sofa from the U-shaped dinette, which sits across from the kitchen. Like the Jayco Redhawk 24B, the kitchen has everything you need.
Jayco Redhawk 26XD

Features: The Jayco Redhawk 26XD is the same length as the 26M but features a very different layout. The sofa is right behind the driver’s captain chair, and the booth dinette sits next to the sofa. The kitchen is directly across from the living area.
The bathroom and bedroom are both in the rear, with the bathroom on the driver’s side, and the bed on the passenger’s side. The queen bed extends in a slide-out to provide space to walk around.
Jayco Redhawk 29XK

Features: If you’re looking for the most entertaining space, the Jayco Redhawk 29XK is the best option. This unit features a 60-inch sofa and U-shaped dinette in the center, and a long galley kitchen on the other side. A large slide-out with the sofa and dinette extends this space even more.
If you have a family of four, you’ll still have ample room to move about in the 29XK. The bathroom is split with the shower on one side and the toilet and sink on the other side of the hallway. The rear bedroom has a queen bed and overhead storage.
Jayco Redhawk 31F

Features: While the Jayco Redhawk 31F is the same length as the 29XK, it doesn’t offer as large of a living space because there are bunk beds added to this layout. Families with three or four children will have the most sleeping space with this model.
The rear bedroom has a queen bed across from a wardrobe closet. The bunks are across from the bathroom. The kitchen is smaller than the other units but still has everything you need for a camping trip. A sofa sits across from the booth dinette.
Who Is the Jayco Redhawk Good For?
We think solo travelers, couples, and families will all enjoy the Jayco Redhawk lineup because of the variety of floorplans. Every coach offers the same appliances and major amenities. It comes down to which layout works best.
This Jayco line is also budget-friendly. Every option is under $160,000. You won’t find amenities like a washer and dryer or two air conditioners, but if you need to buy on a budget, the Jayco Redhawk motorhomes are excellent coaches.
Make Memories This Camping Season In A Jayco Redhawk Class C
Keep in mind that every RV will need repairs. Something will fail or break. While Jayco has been in the RV business for over 50 years, you’ll still experience problems. However, Jayco is also a trusted brand that has served millions of customers.
Since the Redhawk is an entry-level, budget-friendly motorhome, you won’t have some nice-to-have features. But for the weekend RVer, we think this lineup offers affordable units with a variety of options.
