Jayco stepped into the motorhome segment in the late 1970s. As a result, the 2024 Jayco Melbourne is evidence of their innovation and dedication to hard work.
This high-quality Class C has safety and luxury features that shoppers will love. But is it good enough for you and your future adventures?
Today, we’re going to take a look at the entire Jayco Melbourne lineup. Who knows, maybe you’ll take one of these rigs on your next road trip.
Let’s get started!
About Jayco
While Jayco’s bread and butter are travel trailers, they create a variety of RVs. The company was started in 1968 by Lloyd and Bertha Bontrager. Their primary focus was on pop-up campers, but they quickly grew their operation as necessary.
Today, you’ll find travel trailers, toy haulers, fifth wheels, and all classes of motorhomes in their lineup.
Sadly, in 1985, Mrs. Bontrager was forced to take over the company in 1985 when Lloyd passed away as a result of a plane crash. She assumed the position of chairman of the board, and her boys, Wilbur and Derald, joined the team as soon as they could. Currently, Derald is the president and CEO of Jayco.

About the Jayco Melbourne
The Jayco Melbourne is a Class C motorhome that sits atop a Mercedes-Benz 3500 chassis. It comes with a 170-inch wheelbase to provide a smooth and comfortable ride.
In addition, the V4 twin turbo 211 HP diesel engine gives you enough power to conquer just about any inclines. While there may be better options for off-road adventures, the Jayco Melbourne can take you to quite a few places.
Additionally, the Melbourne features many standard features that drivers and passengers have grown to love in standard vehicles. Things like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto make it easy to listen to music, use apps, and receive turn-by-turn directions.
You’ll enjoy a safe and enjoyable experience as you and your crew travel down the road.
Where Is the Jayco Melbourne Made?
Jayco manufactures the Jay Melbourne at its Middlebury, Indiana, location, approximately 20 minutes from Elkhart.
This is an ideal location as it provides access to other top names in the industry. Being close to parts and other components from providers ensures they don’t miss a beat in manufacturing.

The Jayco Melbourne Lineup
Which Jayco Melbourne is right for you? Luckily, there are only a few choices to consider. We’ll help you look at the different floor plans and see which best suits your needs.
Jayco Melbourne 24L
MSRP: $164,093
Sleeps: 4
Length: 25’2”
Weight: 11,030 lbs.
Features: The Jayco Melbourne 24L is ideal for couples traveling the open road together. It features a queen bed in the rear living space.
In addition, the U-dinette provides plenty of space for meals and enjoying time together. The bathroom space takes up the other half of the rig’s rear. With plenty of living space to move about inside, it’s hard not to love this floorplan.
Jayco Melbourne 24R
MSRP: $168,143
Sleeps: 5
Length: 25’2”
Weight: 11,030 lbs.
Features: The second option to consider is the Jayco Melbourne 24R; while the kitchen space remains unchanged from the 24L, Jayco has adjusted the bathroom and bedroom.
The result is a larger bathroom that takes up the entire rear portion of the motorhome. The queen bed is replaced with a Murphy bed that folds to maximize space.
This is convenient as you’re able to make use of the space when you’re not sleeping. You’ll appreciate the additional flooring space and the sense of openness it creates.
Jayco Melbourne 24T
MSRP: $164,093
Sleeps: 4
Length: 25’2”
Weight: 11,030 lbs.
Features: The final floor plan converts the entire rear of the motorhome into a sleeping area. While it has two twin beds, it can transform into a massive king bed.
In addition to a tremendous amount of space to spread out while sleeping, overhead cabinets surround the entirety of the room. You’ll have plenty of room for blankets, clothes, and other items you want to bring with you.
With this adjustment, something had to give. The result was the elimination of the dinette in the main living space. Since campers wanted a bathroom, Jayco had to squeeze this between the main living area and the bedroom.
Unfortunately, this results in a slightly smaller space that can feel cramped. However, the kitchen side of the unit remains unchanged.
Which Jayco Melbourne Will Be Your Next RV?
The Jayco Melbourne is a fantastic option for an epic road trip adventure. While you can’t go wrong with any floor plan, our favorite is the 24R. Having a larger bathroom and living space appeals to us.
However, since there’s no one-size-fits-all motorhome, you may prefer one of the other options. Which one works best for you?
