Who Is Jayco?
Jayco RV is a popular RV manufacturer based in Middlebury, Indiana. Middlebury is just down the road from Elkhart, the RV Capital of the World. In 1968, Lloyd Bontrager founded Jayco RV. However, in 2016, Thor Industries acquired the brand and added it to its large portfolio of North American RV manufacturers that includes Airstream, Keystone, Tiffin, and Entegra. Today, Jayco produces approximately 50,000 RVs annually.

While Bontrager started building pop-up campers with innovative lifter systems in the late 1960s, Jayco RV has expanded to produce all types of RVs. What Is the Jayco Greyhawk?
The Jayco Greyhawk is one of the Class C motorhome lines. Besides the Redhawk, it’s the cheapest and most affordable option. If you’re an RVer with a budget of less than $200,000, this line has four floorplans beginning at $168,668. The Jayco Greyhawk sleeps up to seven people with lengths ranging from 29 feet 11 inches to 32 feet 6 inches.
All four floorplans have slide-outs to increase the interior space. They all feature a booth dinette, a sofa, the typical Class C cabover bunk space, a full bathroom, a full kitchen, and a rear bedroom. The Greyhawk is equipped with a gas engine, Koni FSD shocks, a heavy-duty rear stabilizer bar, a standard front stabilizer bar, Hellwig helper springs, and rubber isolation mounts for a smooth ride.
A Breakdown of the Jayco Greyhawk
Let’s look more closely at each Jayco Greyhawk floorplan. The 27U is the only option under 30 feet and under $169,000. The other three units are 32 feet 6 inches long. However, they all have a GVWR of 14,500 pounds and a combined weight rating of 22,000 pounds. You have plenty of power and capabilities to tow a second vehicle.

Features: The Jayco Greyhawk 27U features two captain’s chairs that swivel to provide additional seating in the living area. The booth dinette sits across from the sofa, and an L-shaped countertop is positioned beside the dinette. The pantry and fridge are beside the sofa on the other side of the coach.
The 12-volt 10-cubic-foot fridge offers plenty of space for a weekend getaway. We also love that the 27U has a residential microwave and 3-burner cooktop. Plus, you have additional countertop space with the flip-up extension. The rear bedroom features a king bed with two wardrobe closets and a full bathroom.

Features: A larger floorplan is the Jayco Grehawk 28MV. It still has the swivel captain’s chairs, but the living space is positioned differently. The booth dinette and sofa are on the same side of the coach, while the kitchen stretches across the other side. This unit also has the option to upgrade to a 15-cubic-foot fridge.
Another key difference in this layout and the 27U is the bathroom is split. The toilet and sink is on one side, and the shower is on the other side. While some RVers won’t like this setup, we appreciate being able to use the toilet and sink while someone is showering. The rear bedroom features a queen bed, two wardrobe closets, and a cabinet at the foot of the bed.
Jayco Greyhawk 30Z

Features: The Jayco Greyhawk 30Z is the only floorplan with a bed slide-out going out the rear of the coach. A dresser is on one side of the bed, and a wardrobe closet is on the other. Another difference is the toilet and shower are on one side of the hallway, while the sink and linen closet are exposed on the other side of the hallway.
Like the 29MV, the 30Z has the side-by-side dinette and sofa. However, the kitchen has an L-shaped countertop, making it a bit smaller than the 29MV space. The 30Z has an electric fireplace with entertainment center that takes up additional space. So the kitchen is smaller, but the entertaining space is larger.

Features: The most significant feature of the Jayco Greyhawk 31F are the bunk beds. This unit provides sleeping space for a family with three or four children because of the cabover area and double bunks in the hallway. The rear bedroom features a queen bed, dresser drawers, and a wardrobe closet.
The full bathroom is across from the bunk beds. The kitchen is also smaller in the 31F to accommodate the extra space taken by the bunk beds. But you still have a 3-burner stove, 10-cubic-foot refrigerator, booth dinette, and sofa up front.
Who Is the Jayco Greyhawk Good For?
Many families choose Class C motorhomes over Class As because of the additional sleeping space over the cab. The Jayco Greyhawk provides this and even more in the 31F model. For traveling families on a budget, this line is an ideal option.
