Who Is Forest River?
Forest River is one of the biggest RV manufacturers in the world. The company owns Coachmen, Dynamax, Palomino, Prime Time Manufacturing, Shasta, and East to West. It also has its own line of RVs under the Forest River brand.
Forest River also has a cargo trailer, a commercial truck, a bus, and a marine division with pontoon boats. When Peter Liegl started Forest River in 1996, he probably had no idea how large the company would grow.
What Types of RVs Does Forest River Manufacture?
In the early years, Forest River manufactured pop-up tent campers, travel trailers, fifth wheels, and park models.
Now the company operates multiple manufacturing facilities throughout the United States and has added Class As, Class Bs, Class Cs, toy haulers, truck campers, and destination trailers to their lineup.
From the small A-frame design of the Rockwood hard-sided pop-up campers to the 45-foot Vengeance Rogue Armored toy haulers to the sophisticated diesel-powered Berkshire motorhomes, Forest River has a model and floorplan for almost every type of traveler.
All About the Forest River No Boundaries Travel Trailer
The Forest River No Boundaries lineup is a rugged towable travel trailer lightweight enough for both four or six-cylinder vehicles to tow. And yet these trailers also offer ample storage for kayaks, fishing poles, and surfboards.
Plus, the larger diameter tires, nimble suspension system, and higher-than-normal ground clearance allow adventurers to get off the beaten path. Let’s explore each series.
The 10 Series
Length: 13 feet 10 inches to 15 feet
Weight: Under 2,500 pounds
Floorplans: Two
About: The two floorplans in the 10 Series include the NB10.6 and NB10.7. The NB10.6 features a rear garage with a ramp door, a wrap-around awning, a 60-by-82-inch queen bed, a Rhino Rack on the roof, and a NoBo Nest Rooftop Tent.
It also comes with a 30-gallon freshwater tank, an outside 12-Volt/110 refrigerator, and an outside two-burner cooktop. The new NB10.7 model features a rear hatch with an outdoor kitchen with a two-burner cooktop, a sink, and a refrigerator.
Inside is a queen bed/sofa combo, a fireplace, and lots of storage. Both models have two entry doors on either side of the unit.
The 16 Series
Length: 14 feet 4 inches to 21 feet 8 inches
Weight: Under 4,000 pounds
Floorplans: Two
About: The Forest River No Boundaries 16 Series units are very different. The NB16.1 is 14 feet 4 inches, while the NB16.6 is 21 feet 8 inches. The hitch weight compares, but the cargo-carrying capacity of the NB16.1 is 926 pounds, while the cargo-carrying capacity of the NB16.6 is over 1,500 pounds.
Even within its small interior, the NB16.1 still has a dry bathroom, a full kitchen, and a booth dinette that converts into a 60-by-74-inch queen bed.
The NB16.6 has double bunk beds, a full bathroom, a full kitchen, a booth dinette, and a 60-by-74-inch queen bed for plenty of room for a family. The kitchen slide provides even more interior space, but if you want to cook outside, the NB16.6 also has an outdoor kitchen.
The 19 Series
Length: 21 feet 10 inches to 24 feet 11 inches
Weight: Under 5,000 pounds
Floorplans: Six
About: The 19 Series has one toy hauler floorplan with a rear garage and a ramp door: the NB19.1. The garage measures 127 inches and includes a flip-up sofa, an entertainment center, and a pantry.
This is a great model for bringing kayaks, bikes, and other toys. The center of the unit has a full kitchen and bathroom, while the front has a 60-by-80-inch queen bed.
The smallest of the 19 Series travel trailers is the NB19.2 at 21 feet 10 inches. It features a rear full-bathroom, a center kitchen with a booth dinette, and a front sofa with a Murphy bed.
Another model with bunk beds is the NB19.3. It features a similar floorplan as the NB19.2 but has two double bunks in the rear next to the bathroom.
The NB19.8 also has bunk beds, but it has a U-shaped dinette instead of a booth dinette for plenty of seating for a family.

The 20 Series
Length: 23 feet 9 inches to 26 feet 2 inches
Weight: Under 5,500 pounds
Floorplans: Three
About: Finally, the heaviest Forest River No Boundaries travel trailers are in the 20 Series. But light-duty vehicles can still tow these trailers even at a maximum unloaded weight of 5,306 pounds.
The NB20.3 is the heaviest model and features rear bunks, a full bathroom, an L-shaped kitchen with additional bar stool seating, a booth dinette, and a front sofa with a Murphy bed.
The next heaviest unit is the NB20.4, with a dry weight of 5,218 pounds. It also features the same L-shaped kitchen with additional bar stool seating as the NB20.3 but has an entertainment center since it doesn’t have bunk beds.
The new NB20.3 Essentials Only model is the same floorplan as the NB20.3 but is much lighter with a dry weight of 4,662 pounds.
Who Is the Forest River No Boundaries Line Good For?
Even with several different floorplans and a weight range of 2,255 to 5,306 pounds, the Forest River No Boundaries line isn’t right for every traveler. If you’re a full-time traveler who needs a large kitchen and a dining and lounge space, you may find these trailers too small.
Additionally, you’ll probably find these units too small if you have a family of more than four or five people.
However, the No Boundaries line is great for people with smaller vehicles who don’t want to spend more money upgrading to a truck. These trailers work well for those who want to enjoy adventures away from campgrounds.
For boondockers who enjoy getting as close to the trailhead or kayak launch as possible, the higher ground clearance is ideal for traversing over washboard roads and maneuvering around deep ruts.
Plus, the ample storage for large outdoor gear like kayaks and skis means you don’t have to leave your toys at home. The Forest River No Boundaries line provides plenty of storage options inside and on the roof.
