Camping season for many campers runs from Memorial Day to Labor Day.

However, that’s not true for everyone. In many parts of the country, there’s still quite a bit of time left in the camping season, and we think that fall is one of the best times to go.

Just because the temperatures drop doesn’t mean you have to call it quits on the camping season.

If you want the ultimate fall camping packing list, read on.

Today, we’ll share things you need to bring on your fall camping adventures.

Let’s get started!

Is Fall a Good Time for Camping?

Fall is a great time for camping; in fact, it’s one of our favorites. The cooler temperatures cause many fair-weather campers to call it quits for the season.

You’ll likely find that campgrounds and tourist attractions have fewer crowds.

You may not get to swim in the lake, but you can enjoy the changing leaves during a quiet hike in the woods.

The crisp autumn temperatures make hiking easier and transform your campfire into a gathering place at the end of the day.

There’s nothing better than circling a warm campfire while you and your loved ones bundle up in sweatshirts.

Don’t forget to bring the s’more supplies. They’re delicious, no matter the season.

How to Choose the Right Camping Gear

When buying camping gear, you want to consider the conditions where you’ll camp and how often you’ll use the camping gear.

If you plan to camp several times each year and extend the camping season, you’ll want to splurge and pay a premium price for high-quality items.

You don’t want to find yourself rebuying gear because you bought the wrong item the first time.

Take the time to research, especially if buying something expensive. You can find reviews on pretty much every piece of camping equipment available.

However, some are far from unbiased, and the individual may not give an honest or transparent review.

You want to choose camping gear that will withstand your camping adventures and last several camping seasons.

You throw away your money every time you toss a broken piece of camping gear in the trash. So make sure anything you buy will last for years.

The Ultimate Fall Camping Packing List

We’ve created the ultimate fall camping packing list so you can extend your camping season as long as possible.

Let’s look at a few items you’ll want to snag for the fall camping season.

You can find some sleeping bags with cold-weather ratings as low as -20 to -40 degrees. However, you’re likely not going to camp in conditions this cold.

But it’s good to know that your sleeping bag will keep you warm no matter how chilly it gets during your camping trips. Additionally, check the length of your sleeping bag, especially if you’re taller.
