When dumping your RV wastewater tanks, you don’t want just any RV sewer hose. You want the best! Today we’re going to compare two high-quality sewer hoses in the RhinoFLEX vs Viper sewer hose battle. While they might both be great sewer hoses, only one can be the winner! Let’s see how the two square up.
At-a-Glance
These are two great packages that provide RVers with everything you could need to dump your RV’s wastewater tanks. Both of these kits come with two 10-foot sewer hoses and use bayonet hooks to connect to your RV’s wastewater valve. The products are very similar in thickness, but the Camco RhinoFLEX compresses for more compact storage. Usually, the RhinoFLEX kit is about $20-$25 cheaper compared to the Viper sewer hose kit.
Comparison
There are a handful of categories that we think everyone should consider when buying an RV sewer hose. Let’s take a look at how these two hoses perform in each category.
Durability
Both the RhinoFLEX and Viper hoses keep durability in mind. The RhinoFLEX sewer hose uses 23 mils of polyolefin. A steel wire reinforces the hose and helps to absorb shock and impact that might cause damage.
While a sewer hose with 23 mils of polyolefin is excellent, the Viper sewer hose uses 25 mils thick material and has a 135 mil protective beading to help provide superior strength. While the two hoses are incredibly close in comparison, the Viper is rated for temperatures down to -20 degrees Fahrenheit.
Having a durable hose that can take a beating, especially if you RV regularly, is essential for optimal dumping. We’re going to call this a win for the Viper, as it’s vital to have functioning hoses in cold temperatures.
Flexibility
The Viper sewer hose kit fully extends to 20-feet and maintains its flexibility even in temperatures as cold as -20 degrees Fahrenheit. The 25 mil thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) gives the hose optimal flexibility and maneuverability.
However, one of the highlights of Camco’s RhinoFLEX sewer hose is its ability to be flexible while maintaining its shape. With a RhinoFLEX sewer hose, you can position the hose at your desired angle, and the hose will maintain that position. For this incredible feature, we’re giving the win to the RhinoFLEX in terms of flexibility.
Portability
Both the Viper and RhinoFLEX are incredibly portable and easily fit in a standard RV sewer hose storage tube. Each 10-foot section of Viper sewer hose collapses to 50 inches. However, the 10-foot Camco RhinoFLEX sewer hoses each collapse to 32 inches.
When traveling in an RV, storage is always a problem. You want to make sure your sewer hose fits either in your bumper or storage tube if your RV came equipped with one. It’s hard to argue with the numbers. Camco’s RhinoFLEX uses a thinner material, and that minor difference adds up over the 20 feet of hose. We’re going to declare the Camco RhinoFLEX the winner when it comes to portability.
Price
The 20-foot Camco RhinoFLEX sewer hose kit is an incredible value at $50-$60.The 20-foot Viper sewer hose kit has a premium price tag of $70-$80. Because Camco products are more widely available at big-box retailers, the Camco RhinoFLEX is one option in these locations. Having a wider availability and a value price gives this category to the Camco RhinoFLEX.

I have used the Camco Rhinoflex and haven’t had any issues. Truthfully, as affordable as the product is, I’ve found that replacing the hoses annually just makes sense. This is not an ite. I would buy expecting to last for years.
