Trying to sleep in your RV when it isn’t level makes for a restless, uncomfortable night. Your refrigerator could even stop working if it’s not level. You’re in luck if you have a set of Camco Leveling Blocks with you, though. Let’s find out how they can help.

With interlocking blocks, campers can use the Camco Leveling Blocks to create a level parking spot. Each block is one inch high and made of hard plastic with UV stabilization. That means they’re lightweight and durable. Plus, Camco added a carrying handle for easy storage. You can get 10 blocks for about $60.
Why Would You Need Leveling Blocks?
There’s nothing worse than losing sleep because your RV isn’t level. The Camco Leveling Blocks provide the perfect solution. Ensure your site is perfectly level by setting out the blocks after you arrive.
Many RVs include refrigerators, and many of those refrigerators need to sit level to function correctly. If you have a compressor in your fridge, it’s important to level your camper for the duration of your stay at a campsite. Otherwise, you might find a lot of spoiled food and melted ice. This is just one reason you might need leveling blocks.
Our Favorite Features
The concept behind leveling blocks is simple but powerful. Here’s a couple of reasons we love Camco’s.
Customizable Height
Because you can stack these blocks, you can customize how high your levelers go. These 4 x 2 blocks are particularly helpful in building a platform for dually tires because they’re double the width of 2 x 2 blocks. You can also use them lengthwise for single tires to build a longer platform.
Carrying Handle Included for Easy Transport
With a built-in carrying handle, the Camco Leveling Blocks are easy to transport and store. The blocks stack like a tower, with the black base block on the bottom. Then a handle fits down through the center of the stacked blocks, screwing into the bottom one. The blocks are lightweight and fit tightly on top of each other.
UV Stabilized Resin for Extended Sun Exposure
Camco makes its blocks in two colors: neon yellow and brown. They’re made of hard plastic resin that’s treated to endure UV rays from sun exposure. This makes them long-lasting and durable.
Double Wide Blocks
At 8.5 x 17 inches, the 4 x 2 blocks are the perfect platforms for vehicles with dually tires. You’ll avoid the problems that come from using two separate platforms built with 2 x 2 blocks that may slide and not stay perfectly aligned. By using the 4 x 2 blocks length-wise, you can create a more gentle platform upon which to drive, if needed.
Cons
The only negative is the need for a rubber mat when parked on a soft surface. You may need to put a rubber mat under the leveling blocks to hold them in place as you drive onto them. Camco sells a rubber block called a Universal Flex Pad separately.
Alternatives to Camco 4 x 2 Leveling Blocks
You may wish to compare leveling options before you purchase. Here are a few other options to consider.
Lynx Levelers
- Lynx Recreational Vehicle Leveling Kit, 10/Pack
- Modular designed levelers not only configure to fit any leveling function, but they also withstand tremendous weight
Lynx Recreational has created a set of 10 leveling blocks that measure 8.5 x 8.5 inches. Like the Camco Leveling Blocks, you can stack these in one-inch increments. They don’t have the rectangular shape needed for dually tires like Camco’s blocks. However, they’re cheaper at about $30.
OxGord Leveling Ramps
- TERRAIN LEVELER: For parking your trailer or motorhome on uneven ground or during rest stops to keep it level and stable
- GRADUAL INCREMENTS: 3 different levels make it easy to drive into and will raise your vehicle in step increments to the...
For a different leveling experience, you may want to try OxGord’s leveling ramps. They measure 22 x 8 x 5 inches and consist of hard plastic that can hold up to 11,000 pounds per axle. Each ramp has three height stages and grips to keep your tires in place. You can get two for about $30.
Leveling blocks can make a huge difference in not just your comfort level but also the health of your RV. Don’t skimp on these vital additions to your camping kit. Which type of leveling blocks do you prefer?
