If you want to spend the winter in Florida, you must make reservations well in advance. Even if you want to take a brief week-long camping trip over the holiday break, it’s hard to book a site during winter since Florida is well-known as a snowbird destination.
If southern Florida is your destination, Breezy Hill RV Resort is a campground you’ll want to consider. It’s not luxurious, but it offers the basics in a fantastic location. Let’s look closer at this RV resort, and you can decide if it’s the right fit for your next Florida trip!

Where Is Breezy Hill RV Resort?
Breezy Hill RV Resort is located in Pompano Beach, two miles from the beautiful East Coast Florida beaches. It’s also easily accessible via Interstate 95 and the Florida Turnpike. The campground is about 45 minutes north of Miami and 35 minutes south of West Palm Beach.
You can also take day trips to Big Cypress National Preserve, Everglades National Park, and Biscayne National Park. Even Key Largo is less than two hours away. Breezy Hill RV Resort is a prime landing spot if you want to be near everything in southern Florida.
Do You Have To Be A Thousand Trails Member To Stay At Breezy Hill RV Resort?
Breezy Hill RV Resort is an Encore park, part of the Trails Collection add-on with Thousand Trails. We’ve discussed this membership network in detail over the years and have saved thousands of dollars in overnight camping fees. Members can stay up to two weeks at Breezy Hill RV Resort without paying anything.
However, you don’t have to be a Thousand Trails member to book a reservation. There are retail sites available to anyone. Breezy Hill isn’t an age-qualified resort either, so there’s no minimum age required for check-in.
What Amenities Are At Breezy Hill RV Resort?
Breezy Hill RV Resort has a shuffleboard court, two swimming pools, a bocce ball court, and a game room for entertainment. There’s also a library, business center, clubhouse, mail center, and laundry facility. In addition, the staff plans activities throughout the year, including arts and crafts, dances, bingo, poker, and church services.
Why People Like Breezy Hill RV Resort
Breezy Hill RV Resort isn’t one of the most popular campgrounds in southern Florida. However, it’s an ideal option if you want to be outside Miami but close enough to take advantage of the numerous activities in this area of Florida.
Lots of Activities
The campground offers a lot of activities. Whether you’re into woodworking, line dancing, or water aerobics, there’s something for everyone. One of the swimming pools is heated, which means you can enjoy a relaxing soak no matter what the temperature. We love that the staff plans activities and doesn’t just rely on the on-site amenities to entertain guests.
Location
You can’t get much closer to the beach without actually staying on the beach. Just a few miles away is the public beach access at Pompano Beach. Walmart, pharmacies, grocery stores, and other conveniences are nearby.
Both the Ernest F. Coe Visitor Center at Everglades National Park and the Dante Fascell Visitor Center at Biscayne National Park are about 90 minutes away. You can take a tram or airboat ride through the rivers of grass or book a reef snorkeling adventure.
Why People Don’t Like Breezy Hill RV Resort
However, the location and activities might not outweigh the cons. If you’re looking for a place to spend a week or two near Miami, you can find an RV Park with a more hospitable staff and a more “campground feel” than Breezy Hill.
Staff Not Hospitable
Numerous Google reviews mention not receiving calls back, personal interactions with rude staff members, and a lack of clean facilities, among other complaints. The staff at an RV park can make or break your experience. If you’re looking for friendly service, you might not find it here.
Snowbird Destination
This particular campground is well known as a snowbird destination for French Canadians. It can feel less “homey” because of the crowds, and it can be hard to get reservations. One visitor shared, “If you want to be a long-time resident, this can be a good place for you. If you are a traveler, this place is not for you.” A campground with lots of residents – either seasonal or annual – can totally change the overall feel.
How Much Does It Cost To Stay At Breezy Hill RV Resort?
Rates vary at Breezy Hill RV Resort, much like other Florida campgrounds. For example, the weekly rate in January is $99 per night. On the other hand, the weekly rate in July is $49 per night. Rates start going up in November as the staff prepares for the huge influx of winter Canadians.
Stay Near Fort Lauderdale At Breezy Hill RV Resort On Your Next Trip To the Sunshine State
Fort Lauderdale, Miami, and West Palm Beach are all within an easy drive of Breezy Hill RV Resort. You won’t find a better location to explore Florida’s East Coast. However, for many people, the staff falls short of expectations, and the massive convergence of snowbirds during winter ruins the atmosphere.
Depending on what you’re looking for, Breezy Hill may be a good fit. Book a reservation knowing the negatives and weighing them against the positives. If you’re a Thousand Trails member, staying in this area for free is a budget-saver! But you might be better off looking elsewhere if you can afford other options.
